Finn Semmer — portrait & street photographer based in Berlin.
I started out chasing landscapes, mountains, forests, long coastlines. But living in Berlin, a city of concrete and glass, I realised the drama I was after wasn't in the scenery. It was in the people moving through it.
Street and portrait photography opened that up. Every face carries a story, every encounter is its own. What I look for is the moment a soft, honest expression meets the hard geometry of the city around it.
A portrait, for me, is less about taking a picture than having a conversation, a short, real exchange, and a glimpse into someone's world. That's what I try to hold in every frame.
